There are 3 products that you can choose to sell in your MLM company – all with different results.

The first product that you can market in your business is your actual, tangible (or intangible) company product. This is the realm of more than 80% of MLM distributors – attempting to make sales by talking about how ‘exciting’ their new magic lotion is. Now I don’t want you to misunderstand – I like magic lotion as much as the next guy. The term ‘magic lotion’ could be replaced with vitamins, pre-paid legal, travel, personal development, or whatever else you’re selling.

The unfortunate thing about focusing your Network Marketing Sales on your company product is that you probably aren’t having much success doing it. I know, there was that one guy who your friend Bill knew who knew a gal named Susan who had an uncle who got rich wearing a shirt that said ‘I swam naked in algae’ – but is it working for you?

The second way of making MLM Sales is promoting your opportunity as the vehicle to riches. As they say in Amway ’sell the dream’. The hardest thing to do in the whole world (although it does work, for that one guy we both heard about once) is to gather your friends into your home, pull out a white board, and convince them all they’re going to get rich by joining you in your business.

It would be easier to send a manned mission to Mars… (Kidding) – Seriously – I’m not saying this as someone who hasn’t been successful doing home meetings – I built an organization of over 1000 people in 6 months, part time doing nothing but home meetings and hotel meetings. You know what though? It was a pain in the rear.

I had to give up church, friends, social gatherings, movie nights, you name it – all for the sake of ‘the dream’… I couldn’t even go on dates.

Yeah, I made a lot of money doing it – so what? I could make a lot of money working all day and night as a MD, too – and you know what? I would rather be poor and spend my nights with my wife.

So if you take away the products, and you take away the opportunity – what is there left to sell?

Now it’s funny that everyone knows that the players in MLM all are shameless self promoters – but what has stopped you from doing it in your own business? Is it because you feel that you have to make a lot of money first?

Would it tear apart your world to learn that if you just accepted yourself as a magnificent piece of perfectly formed artwork – and that you can engage in promoting YOURSELF and YOUR BUSINESS and be free from the ridiculous notion that you need your MLM to be successful?
